Collaborative Portrait
Creativity | Team
Group: 5-Any
Time: ~10 min
Space: At table(s)
Energy: Medium
When & What
This is a great activity for team bonding and having a laugh together. The participants collaboratively make drawings of each other’s faces and the artwork can be used later on to decorate the team area.
Ideal for a group of between 5-8 people and split the group into multiple teams if larger than this.

Steps
- Leave a number of multicoloured pens in the middle of the table, and hand out a piece of paper per person.
- Decide on the number of facial features and write them up on the whiteboard. Ideally one feature less than participants, so for example for a group of 6:
- Shape of head
- Nose
- Eyes and eyebrows
- Hair
- Mouth
- Ask everyone to write down the name of the person to their left.
- Give everyone 1 minute to draw the first feature of the person to their left (eg face shape).
- Once everyone has drawn the first feature, everyone hands the artwork over to their right.
- Ask everyone to draw the second feature for the person in the portrait (eg their nose).
- Continue circulating the drawing to the right until the portrait is complete.
